Pegasus Horse Show
Over 50 riders participated in the annual horse show where all riders receive blue ribbons. The event is held so that everyone who rides at Pegasus has an opportunity to experience a “horse show” and display his/her riding talents for family and friends. The guest judge was Board Member Joy Sweetland Bartley. See calendar section for this year's date and time.
Volunteer Recognition Week
Each year during the third week of April we honor our valued volunteers during National Volunteer Recognition Week by providing treats and snacks, hanging a large banner in the arena and giving them a “thank you” gift.
Carol Tatum Memorial Gala & Silent Auction
The 6h Annual Carol Tatum Memorial Dinner Dance & Silent Auction was held at The Buck Hotel. This annual event honors the memory of the founder and former executive director of Pegasus Riding Academy, Carol Tatum, who was the heart of our program. Carol passed away in 2005, but her spirit and dedication is honored each year at the Gala. The event and the accompanying ad book were wonderful successes and provided a substantial portion of our fundraising resources for the year. Special awards for past service were presented to past presidents of the Board of Directors David Hirsh and Jonathan Smith. Pegasus also honored its Volunteers of the Year: Joan Byrnes and Rachel Brune.
Volunteer Appreciation Dinner
The Pegasus Board of Directors sponsored the third annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner held at the facility. The sumptuous meal was cooked by our own John Cinque, served by Board Members and enjoyed by all. Earlier in the day volunteers from Vanguard participated in the Annual United Way Days of Caring and helped clean up the facility and set up the arena and waiting room for the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner.
